A revolving, evolving store as magazine

African fashion collective The Space’s boutique double storey store, Now Showing was a revolving, evolving treasure trove, with African designer clothing downstairs and a store as magazine upstairs with changing theme every few months. Each edition of the store involved a shift of identity, with logo adaptation, new signage and a shake up in the look and feel of the marketing and social media feed.

the dark side from september to november  2017

Now Showing’s first upstairs edition was a curated collection of curiosities and bespoke home-ware pieces with a dark bent, slightly twisted sense of humour and a penchant for wine tasting events.

the light side from november 2017 to february 2018

Now Showing transformed into a pop-up café serving delicious coffee, breakfast and a four course vegan friendly lunch menu. It had banquet seating, a bright, breezy feel and a side offering of cheery decor, gifting and beach friendly accessories for sale.

space+man pop-up from february to may 2018

Space+Man took over Now Showing with a selection of Africa’s most exciting up and coming and established menswear designers and a friendly resident barber, Psycho Barber. Every Thursday was clubhouse night, hosted by a designer with their choice of focus, ranging from whisky tasting to creativity seminars.
