Bala Wanda is an NGO supported by the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Endowment, equipping teachers in no-fee schools with the resources and training they need to teach Grade 1-3 mathematics in all South Africa’s official languages, with materials that are Creative Commons licensed and freely available for download. Bala Wande needed a series of African animal characters developed for their materials, as well as numerous illustrated maths games, counting scenes, objects and cute kiddies.
